Tirzepatide
Tirzepatide works by mimicking hormones that are naturally secreted in the body: GLP-1 and GIP. These hormones collaborate to control food consumption, blood glucose levels, and metabolic processes, helping to reduce appetite by slowing the digestive process and encouraging weight loss.

Tirzepatide is administered once weekly under the skin. The recommended starting dose is 2.5mg allowing the body to acclimate to the medication minimizing the risk of side effects. The dosage can then be increased in increments to aid in the effectiveness of the medication. Once the desired weight loss has been achieved, maintenance doses will be tailored based on the specific needs of each individual as well as the recommendations from your healthcare provider.

Semagluatide
Semaglutide is classified as a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) that mimics the GLP-1 hormone released in the gut following meals. One of the functions of GLP-1 is to stimulate the body to increase insulin production, leading to a decrease in blood sugar levels. GLP-1 affects the brain regions responsible for appetite suppression and feelings of fullness. When combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, semaglutide has shown promise in promoting significant weight loss.
